Holiday Engagements

I love to hear a story about when a man proposes to a woman during the holidays.You’re already filled with holiday cheer and to be proposed to on top of that! Aces!! Brides are eager to start planning their special day! That’s where we come in helping you to iron out all the details. Designing your wedding one detail at a time. 2010 is sure to bring about new trends in the world of weddings. The ones I’m seeing the most is couples will be focused on capturing the day through photos and video. All of my questionnaires are coming back with footage as being the most important detail. We’ll also be seeing more intimate wedding settings whether it’s private estates or your parents backyard. Weddings are just simply going to be about the couple in 2010 and making their guests feel special and included. See you on the other side of engaged!

A man that can cook!!! Chef G. Garvin

I’ve never missed a show! I love this man, okay not that kinda of love. I’m in love with his food. Not only is it visually appealing , he makes it fun. When I’m finished watching Garvin I’m ready to go whip something new up for the family.

One of my favorite recipes is the  “Steak 3 Ways (Grilled Filet Mignon)”

I’ve made this dish on several occasions and everyone loves it!

Ingredients
3 pieces of filet mignon
2 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon plus one pinch fresh ground pepper
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 pinch parsley

Instructions
1. Season filets with salt and pepper on both sides

2. Heat a grill pan over medium high heat and coat with olive oil

3. Place filets in grill pan and grill until browned on top side then flip over and grill on the bottom side you will see grill marks

4. Flip onto both sides and grill so that meat is cooked all the way through

5. Remove from pan when cooked to your liking, then plate

6. Garnish with parsley and one pinch of pepper

7. Serve

This is a good meal to enjoy with good music, great wine and even better friends!

Living and Loving Life……..

As I deal with life on a day to day basis, I realize that I’m truly blessed. Sure I have had my share of bad days but that’s life right? Take the good with the bad and keep it moving. With that being said I have been on a mission to change me! As I get further and further into my 30’s it seems appropriate to do a self examination. Through that examination I’m learning a lot about who I am and what I stand for. You know what they say: If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything. I’m a child of God first and I’m a mother & businesswoman. I have huge dreams that most think is just that; dreams, but I know different. I’m a great friend although I’m never found that quality in anyone else thus far. I rely on God first then me.

I’m finding that no matter what, being true to you is THE most important thing. Being someone or something you’re not only makes it harder for you to become who you are truly meant to become. I’m me hate it or love it! There is plenty I need to change about me not because someone said they didn’t like it but because I’m not proud of my short comings. When I say short comings I mean I’m not the most patient person in the world and I tend to worry about things beyond my control. I’m quickly learning how to let go and let God. I’m evolving as a woman, a mother and a businesswoman, I’m learning the good ole word NO! I wear my emotions on my face and sometimes that isn’t always a good thing. Every day you wake up is a new day to change your life and way of thinking. Always being positive takes practice and a made up mind. I’m not ashamed to say that I went around this world looking for what I had all along and I’m just now realizing it. Maybe it’s age or experience probably both. Falling head over heels in love with me has opened my eyes to a lot of BS around me and I’ve decided to focus on me, my boys and our future and well being. I want my boys to have a personal relationship with God and I feel it’s my duty to put them in a position for that to happen. Everyone deserves to live and love life to the fullest. If you’re looking for me and the boys we’re out living and loving life!

We’re going on hiatus………

Hi everyone, I’m sad and happy to announce that N Style Event Design will be taking a break from the wedding planning world mainly coordination, we’ll still be designing weddings & events.  I will be focusing more on our new company “318 Design” Event Design & Interior Decor for the home and office. I look forward to our new journey and after prayer and sifting through the pros & cons I feel this is the best way to give all of my clients the very best! Eventually you’ll start to see less of N Style and more of 318 Design. I hope you, our readers will continue to follow us and embark on this journey with us!

Long Day

Oh my! I have to *sigh* really hard. Lol! It’s been a long day, y’all! I’ve been in the shop since 10am, got there and decided I wanted a change. I changed a few items around moved my desk and  rearranged some stuff. Perfect for now. Had a few customers come in today, which is always good. I had a wonderful phone consult today. Keep your fingers crossed. I  left the shop at 6:45pm then off to go clear across town to pick up Thomas from his Basketball game. Now I’m sitting here writing this post and it’s 7:42pm we’ll see what time it gets finished. So we’ll just chit chat until well, until! My to do list is slightly declining, I’ve been doing inventory for a week. I’ve been cleaning my closet for 3 days, organizing 2009 events and shredding papers for 2 weeks. Hold up…………..kid interruption, wants something as always. Okay back to our regular scheduled talk. Bottom line today was lonnngggg! Now all I wanna do is take a long hot bubble bath, do my nightly routine and crawl into bed with my computer.

Okay it’s 9:34pm and after cooking dinner, washing a load of laundry and finding my ensemble for tomorrow I’m officially done. Goodnight!
